About Dr. Faye Vargas Morris
Faye Vargas Morris, MD is an Internist and co-founder of Atlanta Vanguard Medical Associates. Dr. Vargas Morris was admitted into a highly competitive accelerated 7-year program at the City College of New York – Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education and earned a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Biomedical Education in 1997. She received her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from New York University School of Medicine in New York, NY in 1999.
After graduating from medical school, Dr. Vargas Morris began a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics training program at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) – New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She later decided to focus her attention on Internal Medicine and went on to complete Internal Medicine training at Mount Auburn Hospital – Harvard Medical School in 2003. During that time, Dr. Vargas Morris was also clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.
Dr. Vargas Morris has practiced Internal Medicine in both hospital and outpatient settings in New York City and upstate New York from 2003 to 2006 and later served as a Medical Director for CareCore National, a medical expert review company in Bluffton, South Carolina from 2007 to 2009. Dr. Vargas Morris joined the faculty of Emory University School of Medicine in 2009 as a Clinical Instructor and began caring for patients as an attending physician at The Emory Clinic in Atlanta, where she treated patients until the opening of Atlanta Vanguard Medical Associates with Dr. Michael Morris II. Dr. Vargas Morris is a member of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Vargas Morris is an avid music lover and also enjoys dancing and hopes to resume this in the near future. She loves spending time with her two sons - Michael III and Xavier. She enjoys cooking, traveling and exercising.

The wait time was pretty long and she did apologize for it without me having to say anything about it. It was a busier day for her than normal. But everything else about the visit was great. I didn't feel she was rushing or anything when she did come to see me. The whole staff was very friendly and very welcoming.

This was probably one of my worst experiences with a physician. Firstly, Dr. Vargas had me waiting in a room to be seen for over 50 minutes, now had I been 15 minutes late, well lets not go there. So as I'm in the room, partially undressed, I'm wondering what's taking so long. No one came in to update me, so I had to put my clothes back on to find out if I should just reschedule, then the nursing assistant told me that she should be in shortly.
When she finally came in, she didn't wash her hands, she opted to use handsanitzer instead, but that didn't take the nasty smell out of her hands. She briefly looked over the paperwork that I filled out when I first arrived, didn't pry into any of the previous conditions that I listed and spent a total of 10 minutes with me for an annual physical.
She told me that she wanted me to get blood work done but gave no further instructions on how that process should proceed and when I came out the room, there was no one there to assist me so I just went to the front desk and the young lady there barely understood what she should be doing at the front desk. There was one receptionist that was the most professional of them all. She was at least able to help me AFTER I left.
I had to COME BACK the next day to get the blood work done and my referrals. This was just the most unprofessional office and visit that I've had the pleasure to visit and needless to say, I'll be changing my PCP because my health is important to me and it's clear that it's not as important to her.

I felt very rushed. I waited 40 minutes and the doctor didn't even sit down. She was in and out in less than 5 minutes without answering all of my concerns. She didn't even collect the diagnostic questionnaire her staff assigned me.
I got blood work done and the room was disgusting, with food and beverages all over the room. I took off of work and paid good money only to not have most of my questions answered and to feel like I was nothing more than a means to get paycheck .

Dr. Vargas is a perfect example of what a doctor should be: friendly, personable, attentive, and compassionate. She listens to your concerns and offers recommendations to help. She's a wonderful primary care physician and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and attentive doctor.

Staff needs more professionalism. They seemed more concerned about their catered lunch than the patients. I had completed all the paperwork already online and I still had to fill out more forms at the office once I got there.
A nurse took blood samples and I ended with me having blood stains allover my shirt and pants. Nurse asked me if I was anemic and I responded by asking her that's why i needed to come in to the doctor's office in the first place. She would be in a better position to determined if bleeding that much was normal or to let me know if she thought I was anemic.
I will not return to this place not because of the doctor but simply the staff did not seem attentive, professional, or courteous enough.

I was very unhappy with the medical assistance that are working with my doctor. They are not organized at all. Even after my second visit, the MA was very off in her routine.
Then to call abnormal things on my record in which if I didn't have the app, I wouldn't have known. I never got a call about labs at all. When I called for the information, someone told my dr. already called in a prescription which was untrue.
I wait at least two weeks after my appointment to finally have my prescription called in properly.

I have been Dr Vargas-Morris' patient for over 7 years and she is a wonderful doctor and person. She really listens to whatever issues you are having and genuinely cares. She is my PCP and she is over 80 miles away and worth every mile I have to travel to see her! If you need a general doctor, you can't do much better than her!

She was funny and engaging yet professional. I went in for my knee and she did a referral, but still no real resolution on my knee.
The office need upgrades as computers instead of yellow sticky pads and the office in the back seem bleak! The initial interaction with staff was ok, but after once I was being seen, they were professional yet seem to really care about my well being, they were personal and they listened.

I really felt good about my first visit with Dr Faye. She was personable, professional, and took time to speak with me regarding the reason for my visit and about my new baby. Made me feel at home! I love the fact that the office utilizes technology as much as possible. I was in and out in 40 minutes, including checkin, triage, visit with the doctor and checkout.
