About Dr. Fengyu Zhao
Frank Fengyu Zhao, L. AC., Ph.D
Dr. Zhao has over 40 years of experience in the clinical practice, teaching, and research of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). He earned his Bachelor of Medicine degree from the Medical Department of Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine in 1984. He then practiced TCM and acupuncture as a medical doctor at the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region People’s Hospital for 11 years, where he served as Director of the Acupuncture Department since 1989.
In 1995, Dr. Zhao was awarded a Sino-Japanese Sasakawa Medical Scholarship to study rehabilitation medicine at the National Rehabilitation Center in Japan. The following year, he was admitted to Tokyo Medical and Dental University, where he pursued advanced studies and earned a Ph.D. in Neurology and Neuroscience in 2022.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Zhao Fengyu has served as a visiting professor at several institutions, including the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (Japan), Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Japan), Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (Japan), and Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine (Japan). He had taught Traditional Chinese Medicine for seven and half years.
From 2003 to 2007, he conducted Research Fellow at Harvard University, focusing on the use of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture in the treatment of neurological diseases. His research group was awarded the highest-level grant (P01 central grant) ) by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
Dr. Zhao is currently the owner of NY Yes Acupuncture PC. He also serves as a Board Member of the United Alliance of New York State Licensed Acupuncturists, Vice President of the World Association of Manual Medicine, a Board Member of the Third Council of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Orthopedics Committee, and Visiting Professor at the New York College of Health Professions.

I tried both massage and acupuncture, and the whole experience was incredibly relaxing. The doctor was very professional, provided a diagnosis based on my general health condition, and gave me practical advice on my daily routine and diet. The pricing was also very reasonable — overall, an excellent experience that I highly recommend.

Dr.Frank is very professional and experienced .He looks my tongue and take my pulse and immediately can found my root reasons of my problems .the effective of his treatment also very good .my headache disappeared in seconds after he inserted 2 needles .my neck and shoulder

I've been seeing Dr. Frank for about a year now, once or twice a week. I feel amazing, not only with my existing lower back problem, but also in general! I've also seen tremendous positive changes in my gynecology!
It's a shame that this area of ??medicine is so undervalued in our society! I definitely recommend this amazing, highly qualified doctor!

Dr. Zhao is absolutely amazing! Even after the first session I felt immense relief and improvements became more and more notable and pronounced with every consecutive treatment. Dr. Zhao has decades of experience, he is very attentive, listens to his patients and treats not only symptoms but root causes of health problems. I highly recommend his services!

So grateful I’ve finally found a doctor whose treatment is so effective in helping my health to improve. With an holistic approach, Dr Zhao deals with weakness in my spleen and stomach, which affects my lung performance. He gives individual care, understands and resolves my health issues.
Last but not least, his clinic has the best professional setting, and unlike most acupuncturists or doctors who treat several patients simultaneously and may totally forget who they are and why they are there, Dr Zhao respects his mission as a healer and honestly treats his patients for their wellness with his remarkable experience , knowledge, and training.
