He went on to complete a fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2005. He completed a second fellowship in Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in 2007. In 2012, he completed a second residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Board certified in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, he treats patients of all ages for conditions of the ears, nose, and throat; head and neck cancer; and sleep apnea surgery. His clinical interest includes sleep apnea surgery and head and neck surgery. Dr. Gomez-Rivera is specially trained to provide treatment for CPAP intolerant patients via upper airway stimulation therapy and other surgical options for the management and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.
