Dr. Flora Luyando attended Pacific College of Health and Science, where she earned her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, as well as her Master’s in Oriental Medicine and an Associate’s degree. She is also a Licensed Chinese Herbalist and studied Dental Hygiene at West Virginia University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree.
Dr. Flora, as she is affectionately called, is dedicated to providing both Eastern and Western treatments to those seeking a healthy and balanced lifestyle. She accomplishes this by "creating a treatment especially for you," offering a unique and personalized experience for each patient. Flora Healing Bodyworks understands that staying healthy is an art that continues to blossom when embraced by a safe, warm, and loving touch. She is also a member of the Acupuncture Society of New York and the American Massage Therapy Association.

I had a great experience from start to finish! From the warm initial greeting to booking my next appointment and saying goodbye, everything was seamless. I traveled from NJ specifically to see Dr. Flora, and it was absolutely worth it. After today’s visit, I’m excited to continue this journey and can’t wait to see the end results. Highly recommend!l

I went for acupuncture and I was a little nervous at first but she made me feel very relaxed. There was Christmas music playing when I got there for my appointment. After paperwork was filled out Dr. Flora began her assessment of me & my concerns. The room where the acupuncture is performed is very cozy, clean and warm. It's a very spiritual experience and gets your mind in tune with your body! I'll definitely be going back

The was my first time ever seeing an acupuncturist for pain management and I was unsure of what to expect. Dr. Luyando made sure to explain what acupuncture is and her methods to treatment. She did a thorough body examination of me and we talked through what bought me into office. The acupuncture was extremely relaxing, Dr. Luyando inserted needles throughout my body and I was left to simply relax to the sounds of waves. I would definitely book her again.

I came to Dr. Flora initially for my case of Scoliosis. I was experiencing a alot of pain in my lower back and did not want to continue taking pain medication. After a few sessions, she started treating other factors that manifested during my healing process. I developed plantar fasciitis, for one instance. She does not only focus on the issue at hand. She focuses on our mind, body, soul as a whole. This is why I keep coming back. I’m sure there are many acupuncturists closer to where I live (Rockland County). But I don’t think I’ll receive the same treatment from other providers. I always leave our appointments feeling refreshed, alive, and better than before. Even if it’s a virtual appointment. You will not have any regrets! I highly recommend, Dr. Flora!

I can finally look in the mirror and like myself, love myself. I don’t wish I was someone else, like I used to. I don’t want to pretend to be what I’m not. I’ve accepted you my body; it’s not perfect but I still feel beautiful, inside and out. Even the things i never like about myself are feeling less and less important. I don’t think about them anymore. I can name more things I love about myself than I don’t. This is huge for someone who grew up thinking she wasn’t adequate, that what made her different was a curse she didn’t deserve. I’m so grateful that Dr. Flora has helped me peel back the layers of the things I’ve buried so deep for so long and bring them out, front and center, accept what I need, and throw away the rest.

Dr Flora is my go to when I’m off my game! She always helps me realigned with myself.
She caring nurturing and very delicate most of all she listens. She a natural healer that speaks to the healer with-in. Care doesn’t just end during the session she supplies her clients with many tools that she shares from a cleansing mist to candles or what to cut out your diet or practicing gratitude!

Dr. Flora Luyando is a phenomenal healthcare practitioner, she is an expert in her field, caring, compassionate, highly professional and ensures that her clients are provided with utmost respect and thorough communication of what to anticipate in virtual Reiki, or in person acupuncture sessions.
I recall my experience where I unfortunately developed a severe illness in 2020 and my entire body needed to be rehabilitated, I had extreme anxiety, muscle tightness, generalized body pain, respiratory concerns with excess mucus in my chest and throat,
Dr. Luyando explained the pathophysiological effects and the importance of eating certain fruits , drink water, teas, soups etc and most importantly explained to me the importance of balance of my physical, mental, and chakras. I recall an event where my throat chakras were blocked I immediately remembered her recommendation in one of our sessions, I wore the color of teal, began eating straw berries and kiwi and consumed teas my congestion in my chest and throat releases itself.
She is NYCs best kept secret! I highly recommend her services.

I was very impressed with her knowledge and accuracy. I started seeing her for acupuncture for fertility.
I had a recurring ovarian cyst which I didn’t mention to her in my first visit but she detected some kind of inflammation around that area and on my second visit I heard her saying “oh yes the inflammation is definitely less “ as she touched the area . I was amazed
After my 3rd treatment I had an ultrasound with my gynecologist and indeed the cyst had gone down and the fluid in the area gone and
I had the go ahead to start my ovarian stimulation
So definitely she knows her craft and I would definitely recommend her 100%.

Dr. Flora is an amazing acupuncturist and healthcare provider! I first went to her for back pain back in October 2019 and in just a few sessions she helped alleviate my discomfort and make me feel SO much better. Since then, she has treated me through my pregnancy journey – from preparing for pregnancy, to helping me through physical discomfort in my third trimester.
Dr. Flora has a lovely bedside manner, asks many questions to help diagnose and determine treatment and provides me with "homework" exercises to do at home in between treatments. And, she takes my insurance.

I can not say enough about Dr. Flora’s services and her healing abilities. I’ve been a patient for a little over four years and in that time, I’ve been treated for a variety of different things- from physical to emotional.
I was recently hit hard with COVID. In what felt like a never ending journey to recover, Dr. Flora helped me virtually - practicing deep breathing is highly recommended while battling COVID-19 to avoid long term respiratory issues- to treating me in person when I was healed.
Dr. Flora has a unique ability to see deeper than what’s on the surface. She asks inquisitive questions which allows her to assess you as a whole. I’ve been to a handful of different acupuncturists and Dr. Flora stands out from the rest. I feel grateful to have her by my side as a healthcare provider.

I am a patient of Dr. Flora Luyando and have been working with her for several years in New York. She has become someone I rely on and trust very deeply in my journey for growth and self discovery. When our reality shifted I decided to come home to Arizona, which meant Flora and I would need to rely on telemedicine to continue my healing path with her. Let me just say that any doubts I had about the effectiveness of these treatments were soon replaced with an astounding feeling of awe. Not only has Flora found new and intuitive ways to bring awareness to me, but through telemedicine we have been able to access new realms of awareness. Dr. Luyando very personable and passionate about her work. I can tell that she truly cares about the well being of her patients and doesn't simply see them as a billable asset. She took time to understand who I was and what was most important to me for my treatment. I appreciated and respected her so much for that. The office was nice, clean, and had proper lighting. Dr. Luyando uses essential oils and candles to increase the ambiance. I enjoyed my treatment and left the office on a cloud.

Had an incredible first acupuncture appointment with Dr Flora. She was very throughout and thoughtful from the get go. Immediately upon sitting down, she informed me my insurance didn't include acupuncture. But since I was already there I thought I'd give it a try and I definitely intend to come back regardless.
I have been going to a chiropractor, doing yoga and getting massages almost all my life. None of that has had the effect on me that one appointment with Dr. Flora had. Really looking forward to visiting again!

Dr. Flora has illuminated the interconnectedness of my limitations, and has brought me immense relief. I originally came in for migraines but discovered beneficial practices for my anxiety, which in turn helped my migraines. My eczema has also gotten better, along with my back pain. She listened to me with earnest during our first meeting, and continues to, adjusting the focus to best suit where I am each week.

The first thing Dr. said was we heal ourselves and she’s just there to guide along the way. The guidance goes beyond acupuncture itself, and touches on nutrition, therapy, and physical therapy because as she says, “it’s all connected.”. She believes in the balance between Eastern and Western medicine and both have important roles to play in healing.
Dr Luyando makes you feel very comfortable before treatment, even if you’re scared of the idea of needles like myself. She’s well informed which puts any tensions ease. She sets the mood she always greats you with tea, you have a dark room to yourself, soft music is playing and she has an aromatherapy candle burning.
I feel a difference from day 1 to month 3 of me going to acupuncture. I recommend everyone should just try even if you had acupuncture before there’s nothing like the Dr Flora Luyando experience.

Doctor Flora makes you feel so comfortable, open, and "at home" in her office.
