Getting to know Dr. Francis Keating
Dr. Keating attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and received his training in psychiatry from the Albert Einstein Medical Center as well as Alleghany General Hospital. Dr. Keating has also had previous affiliations with the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Center. There he acquired four years of advanced training in psychotherapy.
In his practice, he works with a wide range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, addictions and even the more complex thought disorders. Dr. Keating is unique in his holistic approach to healing, seeking less invasive methods such as attempting to liberate patients from conflict through the use of psychodynamic techniques. This blend of psychiatric and psychological intervention sets Dr. Keating apart from his contemporaries.
Dr. Keating is understanding and non-judgmental in his clinical practice. He takes time in knowing his patients and joins with them to develop a comprehensive plan to improve and sustain optimal health. Unlike many psychiatrists whose primary focus is on pharmacological intervention, Dr. Keating cares to help people understand both the medical and emotional components of their disease, recognizing that most answers lie within the patients themselves.
