My name is Funsho King (Foon-sha), and I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a focus on treating mental health disorders. My goal as a provider is to provide the care that patients deserve. I am a good listener, compassionate, genuine, and empathetic. I like to meet patients where they are, anticipate their needs, and meet those needs so that they can function optimally.
My approach
One size does not fit all in psychiatry. A person-centered approach is vital to meeting each individual's needs and improving their quality of life. I believe in a holistic approach to treatment that promotes health and improves lives so patients can function optimally. I will continue to advocate for patients and provide care with a focus on patients' autonomy through collaboration and the use of evidence to guide practice, lead change, and measure treatment outcomes.

I treat mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, schizophrenia, etc. throughout the lifespan.
My communication style
I am a good listener, compassionate, genuine, and empathetic. I like to meet patients where they are, anticipate their needs, and meet those needs so that they can function optimally.
My journey to mental healthcare
I enjoy caring for people, and my role as a psychiatric nurse exposed me to many challenging situations that motivated me to obtain my nurse practitioner degree to provide a higher level of care and continue to advocate for my patients.

I encourage patients to set short-term and long-term goals, and it takes a gradual process to meet them so they are not overwhelmed.
