Gaelle Nyasa is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experienced in treating patients with psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. She is experienced in providing safe, holistic mental health services with empathy in a compassionate and respectful environment.
Her focus is on the management of anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, Autism spectrum disorder, bipolar disorder, opioid addiction treatment and other psychiatric disorders.
She is a REMS certified Clozaril prescriber for the management of schizophrenia.
We keep up with industry standards, new treatment modalities by investing in numerous continuing education classes and mental health conferences.
She currently provides care to patients in the state of Maryland and the District of Columbia.
She holds a Bachelor of Nursing degree from Bowie State University and obtained her Master's from University of South Alabama.
She has over 12 years' experience in Nursing and her background in Med-surgical nursing enables her to eliminate other medical conditions and provide holistic care to all her clients.

Professional and knowledgable. Had issues prior to the appointment and didn't know how we'd meet. My prescription still hasn't been called in so that's pretty frustrating. I tried calling the office but they had already left for the day.

Three days later after my intake and this joke of a doctor hasnt even looked at my records and sent any prescriptions. the nurse practitioner who did my appointment was sweet but Gaelle and the back office is so do nothing its ridiculous.

Unprofessional. Did almost no intake (reason for coming, meds, past medical history, review of systems).
She didn’t get thru any of these completely. Some, not at all.
She shifted towards manipulative and rude behavior when she felt insecure by my ability to detect these errors.
I decided to end the appt. She then talked over me as I was trying to give a civil goodbye to try to say, “tonight has not gone well, but we’ve all had a rough few weeks. Please take care.”
She never heard that because she interrupted me, claimed she was ending the appt and hung up, like a petulant child.
Summary: didn’t follow basic protocol for an intake visit, demonstrated classic signs of what I call “insecure toxic defense” mode, which interrupted her ability to be present and professional to provide the care I was paying her for.
I’ve had MS for 20 years. I’m a “veteran” patient. I highly advise AGAINST allowing this doctor to treat you.

Dr. Nyasa LISTENED to me and took her time getting to know me. She was nice, funny, and seemed to really care. Even though my whole medication history was a mess, she listened and she actually heard what I was saying. She ended up taking the whole appointment which is unheard of these days with most psychiatrists. I am thankful to have found her and look forward to continuing to work with her going forward.

They are an excellent Psychiatric NP. She was very personable and quickly help put me more at easy which isn't easy as I have anxiety and agoraphobia. Her office was quick to get me the intake paperwork and I didn't have to wait at all for the appointment to start. Over all a great office.
I especially like that they have multiple non-calling ways to reach out if I need to as I struggle with dealing with anything relating to phone calls.

She was absolutely phenomenal. She listened to me, even about some of the most difficult things to talk about. She didn't judge me. She was compassionate, caring, and took almost an hour to get to know me. She was thorough and touched on every part of my life that is and has been affected by my mental health. I have seen many psychiatrists in my life; I am 32 and I have had a psychiatrist since I was 13. She is - by far - in the top 3 of doctors I have ever seen. And I have only had one appointment with her so far!
