“The place was very very clean, my appointment was for 11am and I was taken in at 10:45am after a 15 minute wait. Spent most of the time with nurses and the lovely Xray Techs. The doctor was good, only issue was that he was speaking over me when I tried to explain how I was feeling. Also out of the hour and a half I was there, I only seen him for about 5 minutes so. But I’d recommend the office in general and I don’t regret the appointment!”

About Dr. Garret Garofolo-Gonzalez
Dr. Garret Garofolo is a Board Certified Dual Fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder arthroplasty, and lower extremity pathology with emphasis on complex shoulder, knee, and ankle reconstructive and replacement surgeries.
Dr. Garofolo graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biomechanics, neuroscience, and applied physiology. He subsequently graduated at the top of his class from AUC School of Medicine, where he earned his Medical Degree. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York, an affiliate of Northwell Health. Dr. Garofolo’s orthopaedic residency training included trauma at R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland, pediatrics at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut, and foot and ankle at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Following his residency, Dr. Garofolo completed a sports medicine fellowship under the direction of esteemed Drs. Steven Snyder, Richard Ferkel, and Mark Getelman at the prestigious Southern California Orthopaedic Institute, an affiliate of UCLA Health. Dr. Garofolo then completed an additional fellowship in complex sports medicine foot and ankle and trauma at the world-renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado.
Dr. Garofolo has always been passionate about improving patient outcomes and surgical techniques. He has received multiple peer nominated awards for teaching and research, published numerous peer reviewed articles and presented his research at both the national and international levels. Additionally, Dr. Garofolo served as the team physician at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels, and is currently involved in the management of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard team.

When it was time for me to explain my knee pain he was quick to make assumptions without even touching my knee. He sent me to xray and then came back and stated it seems like there’s a tiny bit of inflammation so here are some pills and go to physical therapy. I went to physical therapy twice a week for a whole month and took the pills but it didn’t help. I did go back for a follow up but this time I wasn’t seen by him instead it was his physician assistant. I didn’t feel heard by either of them, so I’m not going back and I will be going to another doctor.
The two only good things from this doctor visit was that there was barely any wait time to see Dr. Garofolo. And that when it was time for the X-ray, they had the machine in the same office space. Didn’t have the need to go somewhere else and book another appointment. It didn’t take up much time since after the X-ray you got the results.
They did suggest an MRI but at this point it felt like it was more for the insurance money.

The experience was five. Dr and staff very knowledgeable. Front desk needs to take more care with reviewing needed info prior to letting patients sit and wait. My chart was not placed under the correct doctor which caused the hour wait. I had to go up to the desk 3x to finally be called. Other than the front desk the Apptm was great and I would highly recommend

Front office very pleasant. Told me about the free valet parking. Made sure I knew about future appointment. Understood why I couldn’t wait for later appointment after describing the issue. Dr’s staff took very good care of me before and after seeing the doctor. Answered my questions, very clear.

I have nothing bad to say about Dr Gonzalo he was excellent, but the administration on this office is awful, to make an appointment they transfer you around at least 5 times, and put you on hold too many times, when you need a note or any paperwork/Xray they make it impossible for you to get anything or to get to the right department I never experienced anything like this! They make any process a nightmare.

I had explain that i had dislocated my shoulder in 2019, and on my medical notes, he said i had dislocated 6 months ago prior… said if we do cat scan its for getting surgery…
I would most likely like a second opinion as im now doing PT…. I am aware of the risk..
