Dr. Gerald Hollander is the Vice Chairman of the Department of Cardiology and Director of the Clinical Cardiology Division at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. Dr. Hollander completed his internship, residency, and fellowship at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Following his training, he joined Maimonides Medical Center as Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. He is also the Associate Program Director of the Adult Cardiovascular Training Program and has published numerous articles in leading journals on topics such as "The Potential Impact of a Fully Automated External Cardioverter Defibrillator in Centrally Monitored Hospital Units" and "Does the Absence of Septal Q Waves Predict Proximal LAD Disease." Dr. Hollander currently holds the academic title of Clinical Professor of Medicine at SUNY Health Science Center Brooklyn. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Chest Physicians, and is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Disease.
