Dr. Ghalib Wahidi is a board-certified physician with a passion for longevity, holistic medicine, regenerative health, and the maintenance of youth and vitality. He began his healthcare career by studying neurobiology at the University of California, Davis, followed by obtaining a Master of Science in Physiology at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago. As a medical student at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine, Dr. Wahidi's interests included acute medicine, obesity, and diabetes. He was awarded a research fellowship studying orthostatic hypotension and autonomic dysregulation-a complication of long-term diabetes. After graduating from medical school, Dr. Wahidi furthered his training with a residency in internal medicine at University of California Irvine Medical Center. Post-residency, he pursued a career in Hospitalist Medicine as well as Emergency Medicine, where he exclusively cared for the sick and acutely ill patients. While practicing in these environments, Dr. Wahidi noted some of the common conditions and diseases that were dilapidating our society-mainly obesity, diabetes, and heart disease-that affected both the young and the old. After taking care of a 41-year-old man with a blood sugar level over 1500, Dr. Wahidi recalls, ?I specifically remember thinking, there has to be a better way of taking care of these patients. There has to be a way where patients take care of themselves and not have to suffer strokes and heart attacks in their 40s. Sometimes, the treatment made patients sicker than the illness itself.?
