Dr. Girja Jalla has been practicing medicine in the State of Virginia, USA, since 1982. She is a recipient of the Governor’s Award, Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance in Internal Medicine during medical school. Dr. Jalla graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Government Medical College Srinagar, University of Kashmir, India. She completed her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA. Since 1985, she has held a medical staff position at Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, VA. Dr. Jalla has served as Chairperson and Board Member on the Executive Board at Northern Virginia and as a Board Member of the Condominium Building Association at Northern Virginia Doctors Medical Center. She is currently a member of the American Medical Association, Arlington Medical Society, and Virginia Medical Society.

She is very smart, patient and kind. She makes you come in a lot (every 3 months for some meds) so that's the only downside.

From start to finish I had a great experience with Dr. Jalla. I went in for a physical but she also asked me if there were any issues besides me coming in for a physical. Once I answered her questions, she was able to recommend a great physical therapist and wants to follow up with me in a few weeks to make sure that I went. Also, I loved that each box she was checking on the paperwork for lab work, she explained what it was and why she was requesting it for me so that I was not confused. I will definitely be going back for her services in the future.

I love her! She takes the time to listen to your ailments and really puts a lot of effort into how to resolve them. She is really personable and not cold like some doctors are. I'd recommend everyone to go to her. There is a little bit of wait time less than 20 minutes, but you'll understand why once you are seen by her. She doesn't do a rush evaluation, she really takes the time to help you. You don't leave her office thinking about what just happened, your well informed.

Dr. Jalla was very thorough and took her time during my appointment, which I greatly appreciated. While there was quite a wait (about an hour), I didn't mind because her bedside manner was so excellent and her caring and knowledge were so evident. I would highly recommend her.

I have been seeing Dr. Jalla for a long time, love her! my only complaint is that I called the office when I was running late, and they had no record of me making an appointment. they still arranged for me to be seen ( which i appreciate), but something went wrong with scheduling online

Dr. Jalla is thorough and pleasant, and she explained my prescriptions instead of just writing them and handing them to me, which I appreciated. Waiting room times aren't bad at all.

Dr. Girja R. Jalla was very nice. She has very calming voice. Whatever I complained about she said " don't worry. We will get to the button of this. You will get better". I personally liked her as a professional and a person. Doctor even gave me a hug at the end which made me feel comfortable with her as a doctor and person. The only problem is the wait. They schedule 15 minute appointments and you end up waiting an hour to get in. I would recommend showing up late.

Wow. What a total WASTE of time and money! I went for a routine wellness exam/physical hoping for a thorough check of my systems. But this doctor reads Q's off a computer screen to check medical history and ailments, and only hands out dated pamphlets when you have a question. And when I mentioned one or two concerns, she blandly suggested possible causes without so much as a prescriptive remedy or action for follow up. I practically had to order my own blood work, for chrisssake. Her medical knowledge seems BASIC at best. Useful if it was 1950 and I lived in Nebraska. Not what it should be for 21st century issues and educated patients in a major urban area. Seriously, shockingly awful. Save your time and money.

This was a wonderful "find" of a competent respectful physician. Her friendly engaging staff was a bonus and very appreciated. Having recently relocated here and leaving a physician who provided care for me and my family for over thirty years, I was sure this could not be replaced. I obviously am wrong. Dr. Jalla is a treasure!

It was my first time at the gynecologist and she was amazing to me. She was gentle and explained everything she was doing. We had a talk before she examined me, and i was very comfortable with her doing whatever she needed to. I would only recommend going to Girja. She is a very nice lady.
