I’m Greg! My name is Gregory Obiwuma and I am a Licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP, PMHNP-BC), based in District of Columbia, and working with patients in DC and Maryland via office and telehealth. I work with all lifespan and specialize in managing the following conditions: Bipolar disorder, Depression, ADHD, anxiety, personality disorders, PTSD, mood disorders, and psychotic illness, using medication management, to help patients to maintain stability and live independent and quality life. My approach My approach to mental health management with medication is patient centered and individualistic. I apply evidence - based psychiatric and behavioral health care in managing patients. I utilize biomedical model in medication management of the patients. This justifies the use of medication to treat symptoms by targeting the imbalances in mental disorders through neurotransmitters and other biological mechanisms. By maintain regular medication management patient will be to recover, maintain stability, and live independent and quality living. My focus From my own perspective I feel my approach is a good fit for all lifespan however I will prefer working with adults more, that have problem with mental illness. The conditions such as depression, ADHD, PTSD, anxiety, mood disorder and psychotic disorder affecting most people in our society needs medication to manage the challenging situation. I will available to work with the patients to go through the challenging situation to regain back their stability and be able to function and live their normal life, and be able to contribute to the society again. Working with the patient as a team to eradicate stigma against behavioral health issues and promote non - judgmental mental health care has remained my major focus.
