About Dr. Gregory Rivera
Dr. Gregory A. Rivera graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Teaneck, New Jersey, in 1989 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical Engineering. Prior to college, he served in the United States Navy from 1981 to 1984 aboard the 6th Fleet command ship USS Puget Sound AD38. He then graduated from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. He completed a two-year residency at the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Veterans Affairs Hospital with rotations at Keller Army Hospital West Point, Hospital for Special Surgery, and the Bronx V.A. Hospital. Dr. Rivera became a Fellow of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery.
He also became a Fellow of the Dellon Institute for Peripheral Nerve Surgery at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Rivera is a leader and pioneer in critical limb salvage.
He is board eligible in podiatric orthopedics and an active member of the Academy of Ambulatory Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is published in the Journal of Podiatric Medical Review; his recent paper was “An Overview of Laser Medical Technology.” He has lectured internationally on podiatric topics, including common foot and ankle problems and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Dr. Rivera has taught and performed surgery for the needy in Mexico and Spain. He is bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish. He has been interviewed on Channel 41 Univision and hosts a cable TV program providing information on health and wellness topics.
He is on staff at NYU Langone Medical Center, New York, and was previously affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital, New York Presbyterian Medical Center, Columbia University, and Cornell Presbyterian Hospital Services Organization. Dr. Rivera maintains a private practice in Manhattan, New York City.

Dr. Gregory Rivera was very friendly. I needed to see a podiatrist due to pain in my Achilles tendon. The office was well equipped, so I didn't have to go any where else for other tests. He was able to see that is was a simple fix with just a heel lift and I left the office with a lot less pain. I loved the fact that he spent a lot of time with me and explained everything, and called in a few prescriptions right to my pharmacy. I would highly recommend this Doctor to anyone.
