Dr. Mao obtained his medical degree from the Tongji University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Fort Wayne Medical Education Program. He also completed his fellowship at Indiana University Health Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Center. Dr. Mao is board certified in sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. Dr. Mao was the third specialist I’d seen in 1 year and was the only one that recommended practical treatment during the visit. I felt his experience and expertise was exactly what I was looking for because he listened and made practical options and is the only Doctor that went beyond looking at xrays and used an ultrasound to share with me what was causing the pain and discomfort- as soon as I saw the river of fluid in my knee it made perfect sense to drain it and get the cortisone injection and avoid a costly knee replacement and the added pain and discomfort of recovery from surgery- other doctors just recommended physical therapy and a total knee replacement after one visit and a review of xrays only

The CMA was just spectacular! Super friendly and professional. Dr. Mao is awesome! I know have three family members seeing him! My husband and oldest son use him as their PCP and my 9 year old started seeing him for a knee fracture. He knows his stuff for sure!!

Dr. Mao is really nice and helpful! I highly recommend him as a primary care doctor - he can really help you with his professional advice. He’s patient and willing to listen to my concerns. The wait time was acceptable considering it was a Saturday visit.
