Dr. Harish Nuthakki is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He began his medical journey in 2001 at the prestigious Guntur Medical College in India, where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree, graduating with first-division honors in 2007. He immigrated to the USA in 2008 and, in 2009, matched at McLaren Regional Medical Center, MSU Flint, for his Residency in Internal Medicine. He completed this program in 2012.
Following residency, Dr. Nuthakki joined Sound Physicians, the largest hospitalist services provider in the nation, where he worked for eight years at multiple locations in various roles. He served as Chief Hospitalist and Medical Director at the Clovis site before leaving to pursue his Fellowship in Nephrology at McGovern Medical School, UT Houston. Under the leadership of Dr. Finkel and with faculty including Dr. Molony and Dr. Dosekun, he trained extensively as a fellow at Memorial Hermann Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center, and LBJ Hospital. He also attended the Glomerulonephritis Specialty Clinic under Dr. Khan’s supervision. He graduated from fellowship in 2022 and is currently a board-certified nephrologist.
Dr. Nuthakki gained additional training in interventional procedures working with Dr. Gerges, including temporary and permanent hemodialysis catheter placements, AV fistula angioplasties, stent deployments, and mediport placements. He settled in the DFW area with his lovely wife and two adorable children, establishing his private practice in internal medicine and nephrology in Frisco, which he considers an ideal location.
