She attended Rush University in Chicago, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Doctor of Nursing Practice, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Heather is married and has a daughter and son. Heather listened and was kind and professional. She was honest and knowledgeable and I am looking forward to seeing her for my primary care NP.
When I arrived- I wasn’t asked to show ID or insurance, or given paperwork to fill out despite it being my first time there, and an initial appointment. When I arrived they thought I was there to see another Dr., and Heather was confused that she had an appointment with me at all. Heather was not good with my pronouns, and obviously unaware of the words to use when discussing transgender patients. She told me her 15 year old son was where she got her info on Transgender people, and while that’s understandable for some doctors, it’s off putting and worrisome for an office that claims to be LGBT informed. Said she would refer me to other clinics, but has yet to reach out or refill my medications. I would not recommend going here if you’re a transgender or GNC person.
