About Dr. Hemalee Patel

My method to deliver personalized and preventative medicine begins with active listening and understanding of my patients' values, lifestyle, and concerns, which is in line with my desire to care for the whole person rather than simply treating symptoms. I incorporate evidence-based medicine along with tailored education and motivational strategies to optimize my patients' well-being, healthspan and longevity in areas of nutrition, fitness, sleep, and mindfulness in order to improve and resolve health conditions. In addition to one-on-one patient visits, I also teach and facilitate One Medical's diabetes prevention program along with sleep and nutrition group classes. To stay healthy, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, staying physically active, traveling, and am an avid supporter of the arts. I earned my undergraduate degree in Economics at UC Berkeley with an emphasis in Nutritional Sciences and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. I come with 8 years of experience as a Clinical Instructor and Hospitalist physician at Stanford University and CPMC where I remain on staff. I am board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, and certified in Ayurvedic medicine level 1 and 2.
