About Dr. Herman Mai

I found my calling to become a doctor early on, as I have always wanted to help people. It is very rewarding to see patients feel better from their illnesses-whether acute or chronic. I chose primary care mainly due to the continuity of care and preventive focus it offers. I rejoice in the fact that I can deliver continuous care for patients throughout their lives, but more importantly, I can also counsel patients to improve their lifestyle and decrease their cardiovascular risks. I take time to listen to their concerns and build relationships with patients in order to provide optimal, high-quality care. I earned my Bachelor's degree from New York University, completed my Doctor of Medicine at the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center, and finished my residency in Internal Medicine at New York University. Family is very important to me. When I'm not in the office, I spend time with my family and enjoy the outdoors-hiking, kayaking, as well as visiting aquariums and zoos. Laughter is the best form of medicine-it reduces stress and boosts your immune system.

Arrived for 3 pm appointment 15 min wait to check in after doing it electronically After an hour wait w no explanation I was seen as I was ready to leave No apology , just several staff informing me primary care is busy, hour wait is common No thanks- that is poor practice to have people wait that long No staff- check in person left at 3pm- no one to ask questions of
