What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is patient-centered, collaborative, and evidence-based. I specialize in treating anxiety disorders, OCD, and related conditions tailored to each individual’s needs. I believe in working together to find the best treatment plan, empowering patients to take an active role in their care. In therapy, I focus on specific, goal-oriented techniques, such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD and Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD. I incorporate medications thoughtfully when needed to support therapeutic progress. I strive to create a compassionate and non-judgmental environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their concerns. Together, we’ll focus on building skills that foster resilience and improve well-being

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll take time to get to know you by gathering a detailed history of your current challenges, personal background, medical history, and treatment goals. This initial visit typically lasts 60 minutes and focuses on building a shared understanding of your needs. From there, we’ll collaboratively develop a treatment plan. Follow-up medication management sessions (20-30 minutes) are structured to monitor progress, adjust treatment as needed, and address any new concerns.

As always Dr. Valerio listens to how my body handles medicine, gives me her thoughts, and then works with me to collaborate a plan.
I have medi-cal and I got my prescription yesterday, it went through, however they won't let me pick it up due to insurance not approving the medication. I was planning on just paying for it myself but apparently I can't pay for it at all, at least not until the Dr files the prescription again and it is:(and will be deniedm so I need to. Hey in contact with my Dr so I can discuss this with them because otherwise I will be going to 3 days of no meds because of this bureaucratic run around. So I need to speak with my dr (PSYCHIATRIST) A.S.A.P

Dr. Valerio is one of the good ones. She is easy to talk to, caring, relatable, very thorough, and is quick to get back to you. I wish more providers were like her.
Dr. Valerio helped me with problems related to OCD that felt impossible to overcome. On the contrary, thanks to her expert help I felt much better already within a month of treatment.
