Hi there, I'm Hope! Dr Hope Essien (DNP) is a dual board certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with many years of experience as an NP provider. My focus is on Evaluating, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental and psychiatric disorders including Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Bipolar, Mood and sleep disorders, and behavioral and conduct disorders in all ages across the lifespan. My approach My desire is to provide more holistic care to the clients because the body suffers when the mind is not sound and vice versa. My philosophy is based on a holistic, evidence-based patient-centered approach to the management and treatment of psychiatric and mental health disorders. My goal is to build a therapeutic alliance or collaboration with the clients, that focuses on unique and individual patient care. My focus I have experience working with Children (6 to 10), Preteens, Teen, Adults, and Elders 65 and above. I typically work with both adults and adolescents with common mental health issues and behavioral issues in children. I provide psychiatric evaluation and medication management in clients with major depression, generalized anxiety, bipolar disorder, mood disorders, insomnia, and behavioral issues in children such as ODD, DMDD, IED, and conduct disorders. My communication style Dr Hope is a patient, non-judgmental, attentive, compassionate, knowledgeable, and experienced nurse practitioner with 30 years in the healthcare industry. Hope utilizes evidence-based practice in providing psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and psychoeducation to the mental health population that she serves. Dr Hope is a provider who listens to you, is understanding, and tailors the treatment to your individual needs. My journey to mental healthcare The trigger to becoming a mental health provider 5 years ago was both due to personal experience from my family member with a mental health disorder.
