About Dr. Howard Luks
Howard Luks is a Sports Medicine, Fellowship-Trained, Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with over twenty years of academic experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College and completed his Residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He has been recognized as one of the top Sports Medicine Physicians in the United States by U.S. News & World Report. His primary areas of interest include injuries of the knee, shoulder, and elbow.
Within Sports Medicine, Dr. Luks specializes in managing cartilage injuries, rotator cuff injuries, meniscus repairs, ACL tears, patella dislocations, patella and quadriceps tendon tears, osteoarthritis of the knee, and routine fractures. He has a unique focus on knee joint preservation, including osteotomy, cartilage regeneration, and knee joint distraction.
An endurance runner and amateur cyclist himself, Dr. Luks loves helping fellow runners and cyclists. He understands the runner's mindset and their need to run.
