About Hui Dong
Growing up in China, Hui was fascinated since childhood with the healing power of Traditional Chinese Medicine but never dreamed of becoming an acupuncturist. However, her pursuit of this rewarding and exciting pathway started when her son Samuel was born with Down Syndrome in 2006. She was inspired by the healing power of reflexology in treating her son's chronic constipation and her recurring breast engorgement.
Hui found her bliss and destiny in the art of natural healing, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a Masters degree in Acupuncture and a Bachelor degree in Nutrition program from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine (MCOM) in 2010. While opening her practice, she continued schooling in Chinese Herbology becoming a board-certified herbalist in 2015. She served on faculty as an assistant supervisor in the student clinic at MCOM for four years.
Hui's purpose in practicing is to awaken and enhance the healing power within each client to regain a harmonic state of being, and to achieve optimal health. Her philosophy follows Dr. Albert Schweitzer’s:Each patient carries his own doctor inside him. They come to us not knowing that truth. We are at our best when we give the doctor who resides within each patient a chance to work.

I am a nurse that works in a western medical center, however, when I need a cured for my ailments, I see Hui. She has a very gentle bedside manner and works very diligently to get to the root of the problem. She, also, seeks continuing educational classes to improve her skills to give you the best treatment possible.

Hui is an excellent acupuncturist. She takes her time getting to know exactly what is bothering you and to put you at ease. She is very thorough with your health history in order to provide you the best outcone possible. She has reduced my chronic pain significantly. I can move without pain and my results have been great and long lasting. Hui takes her time to explain what she is doing and how everything in our bodies correlate to healing from the inside. Acupuncture, cupping and massage by Hui have been life changing for me. I recommend Hui Dong at Lake Bluff Acupuncture to anyone in need of relief.

I took my dad to see her . He was complaining a pain he had on his lower back. She was great with my
dad. No doctor couldn’t find the problem. And her prices are perfect for the work she does . And I have fibromyalgia. After I went to see her i feeling better ????

I have been treated by Hui the past 5 years for a variety of reasons. I am always looking forward to my therapies! She is amazing in acupuncture and cupping.
Hui is an amazing, highly effective and very caring therapist. She goes above and beyond to ensure my pain/issue is treated before I leave the session. I always feel enormously better after my treatments and my mood is especially improved.
She pays individualized attention to each of her patients and genuinely cares for them. I am very grateful to her and I highly recommend her!

Hui is a very skilled, thoughtful and considerate practitioner. She is one of the best listeners I have met, and takes the necessary time to understand the reason for your visit and to develop an appropriate treatment regimen. She is enjoyable to be around and highly understanding/empathetic, and develops a personal interest in helping her patients. Hui likewise is very interested in and curious about her profession and her practice, regularly spending time outside of the office thinking about, learning about and developing new treatment plans for her patients. I highly and without hesitation recommend Hui Dong, LAc.

Hui is very knowledgeable and caring accupuncturist. She taylors treatments to your specific needs and goes above and beyond to make sure your every health issue has been addressed. In addition to accupuncture she also provides other auxiliary methods such as cupping, gua sha and moxibustion, which I truly enjoy. I feel amazing after her treatments, I wish I can go every day. I am blessed to have found her. Highly recommend!

Was always very apprehensive about doing acupuncture. The difference in going with my sinus and joint issues has been life changing with almost immediate results. Hui is very intuitive and knowledgeable in Accupucture. So very pleased to of met her.

Hui listens to your concerns and then customizes her treatment to provide the best results possible. She provides herbal supplements and home therapies to assist in the healing process. I’ve been seeing Hui for many years and am grateful to have found her!! I feel immediate relief from many of her treatments.
I know she takes great pride in helping her patients and I am grateful for all her knowledge and care she has provided to me both physically and emotionally!

I had an some pain with my achilles / heel that had been lingering for years and I could never get it to go away. I was not optimistic when I tried acupuncture (for the first time), but Hui did a remarkable job and the pain was completely gone!
