My name is Ifeoma Ude-Okoro and I am a dual board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP) based in Texas and working with clients all over via telehealth. I work with adults suffering with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, eating disorder, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+ issues, gender dysphoria, in a non-judgmental & stigma-free setting using individualized and holistic approach to help my clients improve their functionality one day at a time. My approach My approach to care delivery is client-based and holistic. I utilize a little bit of cognitive behavioral therapy with medication management to get my client to their highest level of mental functioning. My focus I typically work with adults dealing with mental health challenges. Caring for patients struggling with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, borderline personality disorder (BPD), eating disorder, bipolar disorder, LGBTQ+ issues, gender dysphoria. I work with my patient in a collaborative manner to help them chat a new way forward My communication style My communication style is calm, therapeutic, and compassionate. I want my client to feel very free and relaxed to disclose anything to me , while providing them a stigma-free and therapeutic environment with effective listening. My journey to mental healthcare With over 2 decades of experience in the healthcare industry & as a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a DNP in Nursing. I've acquired a wealth of knowledge, experience & skills and being in a family practice clinic and having seen first hand how many patients need mental health help but could not get an appointment for 3 to 6 months out, as an agent of change, I knew I had to do something. What drives me to work everyday is knowing that someone is depending on my showing up in order to function and seeing my patients getting mental improved.
