Family Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Hi there, I'm Ijeoma! Life comes with challenges, and mental health struggles make it harder to navigate. If you are struggling with mental health issues, help is available and starts here. My goal is to help you feel more grounded and in control of your mental health struggles. My focus I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, mood disorders, PTSD, OCD, ADHD, and insomnia. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan of care and involve you in the decision-making process. My approach My care approach is practical and collaborative, providing you with tools to feel more in control. I utilize evidence-based treatment and person-centered care, treating each individual as unique. I help you understand your symptoms, and we work together as a team to address them. My communication style I provide an empathetic, non-judgmental space that encourages clear and open communication. I actively listen and will allow you to reflect on your experiences with me and ask questions. My journey to mental healthcare My mental health career journey started after seeing individuals with mental health struggles due to a lack of access to health care and stigma. I grew up in a culture where mental health is not discussed. I want to make a difference and change that mindset. My goals for you I see our professional relationship as a partnership. Together, we’ll set realistic and achievable goals. We will discuss the progress and update the treatment goals based on the outcome. Our first session Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and discuss your chief complaint. It’s normal to feel nervous and vulnerable discussing your symptoms with a "stranger." We will start building a therapeutic relationship that will evolve.
