Dr. Jack St. Jean is a board-certified psychiatrist who provides comprehensive mental health care for adults ages 18 and older. Originally from Queens, New York, he also considers Georgia home, having spent his formative years there from adolescence through young adulthood.
He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Georgia Southern University with a major in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He went on to earn his medical degree from Morehouse School of Medicine, where he developed a strong foundation in community-focused and patient-centered care.
Dr. St. Jean completed his psychiatry residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, and is an active member of the American Psychiatric Association.

I am a new patient with Dr. St. Jean. I had some serious concerns in regards to medication that I had been on for years. I had been seeing the same doctor for years who had been prescribing the same medication that I felt wasn’t helping me.
Dr. St. Jean was so thorough in his evaluation and expressed his commitment to addressing my concerns. It is amazing what a new set of eyes can mean to a situation like mine. He worked with me tirelessly helping me get off a medication that I have wanted to change for years! I feel better than I have in a very long time. His support of me through this transition was incredible. He went beyond the call of duty in my opinion. My experience with him has been life changing. I am 73 years old and needed someone who did not just “rubber stamp” my medication protocol. I gave him five stars for good reason. Alex, his front office person, is amazing too. My new medication required multiple phone calls, paperwork, etc. She is very patient. Thank goodness.

Dr. Jack St. Jean, MD genuinely changed my life for the better. As a woman of color, it can be incredibly difficult to find doctors who truly listen, validate your concerns, and actively work toward real solutions. From the very beginning, he listened and because of that, I feel like I have my life back.
He always makes sure you feel heard, and whatever you go to him for, he provides thoughtful, effective suggestions. His patience and kindness make such a difference. You can tell he truly cares about his patients.
I am beyond grateful for him and honestly so happy I could cry. He will absolutely be my lifelong psychiatrist.

*Finding a new GOOD psychiatrist is a challenge! Online platforms proved disappointing. Often no link, even a provider no-show.
*However, Dr. St. Jean and the office staff were kind, attentive, and personable. They created a stress free experience. The waiting area was clean, and peaceful.
*Dr. St. Jean himself opened the waiting room door. He cordially greeted me, and welcomed me into his office.

Dr. St Jean is an excellent psychiatrist with superb bedside manner. Unlike many doctors, he really listens and empathizes. As a healthcare professional myself, I was comfortable with his recommendations and found them to be aligned with guideline based pharmacotherapy. I especially appreciated that he was careful to choose a non habit forming medication to treat my anxiety as needed, and that he checked my blood pressure to ensure that venlafaxine (which can raise BP) would be a safe choice for my antidepressant. This shows that Dr St Jean is safety oriented and thorough. I will be continuing to see Dr. St Jean as my psychiatric provider on an ongoing basis.

He reassured me and my husband that he would take great care of me and we were both eased during my visit. Finding a Psychiatrist is very difficult due to the shortage. Unfortunately I was late to my appointment due to multiple accidents along my route, but they still saw me as a patient for a shorter amount of time. I cannot recommend Dr. Jack St. Jean highly enough. He is by far the best psychiatrist I have ever seen, and I’m so thankful Zocdoc helped me find him. Even though I live in the heart of Atlanta and it was a bit of a trek to get to his office, it was absolutely worth it.
Dr. St. Jean has an incredible bedside manner; he makes you feel safe, heard, and truly cared for. It’s rare these days to find a mental health provider who genuinely invests in their patients, but with him, you can tell he truly does. He listens without judgment, offers thoughtful guidance, and creates an environment where you feel respected and supported.
If you’re looking for a psychiatrist who goes above and beyond, who treats you like a whole person rather than just a case file, I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. St. Jean. I’m so grateful to be under his care.
