“Dr. Henschke is a fantastic psychiatrist. She listens - really listens. I've taken both of my children to her as well. What I appreciate about Dr. Henschke is her genuine interest in her patients' mental well-being and lives. Sometimes, visiting a psychiatrist for medication can feel a little like an oil change. Symptoms - check. Med change - check. (Not all their fault, I know.) Not with Dr. Henschke. She wants to know how a patient's counseling is going. She will confer with other members of her patients' care teams. She notices subtleties in behavioral, emotional, and sleep changes and delves into them. Although I went to her myself for anxiety and depression, she got to know me well enough that she picked up on my lifelong inattentive type ADD that I, a teacher with an ESE background, never noticed. That revelation explained so much of my life. Dr. Henschke is excellent with teenagers and sensitive to the needs of patients with autism and their families. Highly, highly recommended!”
