About Dr. James Keller Harper

Kel Harper, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with over two decades of experience, practicing at Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology in Atlanta and Alpharetta, Georgia. Many of Dr. Harper’s patients start seeing him during their teen years and continue throughout the many stages of women’s health needs.
A lifelong resident of Georgia, Dr. Harper earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia in Athens before earning his medical degree at The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He then fulfilled his OB/GYN residency at the Greenville Hospital System (now called Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital) in Greenville, South Carolina, before returning home to join the experienced physicians at Georgia Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dedicated to keeping up with advancements in obstetrics and gynecology best practices, Dr. Harper is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
When he’s not at work, Dr. Harper enjoys sports, especially football, and spending time with his three children

Dr. Harper was great. I felt very comfortable with him. Very kind and gentle and funny. His nurse also was wonderful and laughed at my bad jokes. And the front desk staff was attentive and very helpful getting me seen the day of
Anyone who makes an appointment through zocdoc as i did should call to verify before the day of. Even though i got texts from zocdoc verifying the appointment it was not in their system because providers have to manually accept appointment requests for them to be valid. So even though i couldnt have my “scheduled” 11 am appt. I made through zocdoc, i was still able to see Dr. Harper at 2:30 same day. This is obviously no fault of the office and entirely on zocdoc.
Also there were cute Norman Rockefeller prints in the room i was in :)

Dr. Harper was truly wonderful and so was his nurse Teresa. They were incredibly kind and I felt that I was cared for as a whole person rather than a time slot on the schedule. They absolutely exceeded my expectations for how positive a gynecology appointment could be. Dr. Harper was sure to answer all of my questions and doubled checked that I felt everything had been covered before the appointment was over. I would recommend him to all of the women in my life. Very gentle, compassionate, respectful, and knowledgeable.

The visit was seamless and the staff was pleasant. All of my questions were answered and my needs were met as a priority. Dr. Harper took additional time to debrief with me in his office after my exam to ensure that I received the information I needed for next steps in my wellness plan.

Dr.Harper was amazing! This is my first pregnancy and I had only found out 15 hours before I saw him and was extremely nervous. He was so communicative to my partner and I and walked us through every step that he was doing. We were originally going in and asking for a referral for someone closer to home and left knowing that we were going to stay with Dr.Harper. Highly recommend

The doctor was amazing - walked me through everything, explained everything and then even let me sit in his office once we were done to make it more personable and less doctor office visit to discuss my next steps. We had some technical difficulties however he kept me informed and worked diligently to resolve them and quick and possible. Even walked me over to get my blood drawn. It is a very emotional time for me and I felt like I was taken seriously. If I could keep going back to Dr. Harper I would!
