About Dr. James Porter

Thank you for making an appointment with Advocare Sussex Pediatrics. If this is your first time visiting our offices, we require the last 2 Well Visit Pediatric Notes from your child’s previous pediatrician AND the most recent immunization record. We must receive these records 5 days before your appointment or we will have to reschedule. Failure to provide these documents may result in your Zocdoc appointment being cancelled. We appreciate your understanding & look forward to seeing you soon. The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommends immunizations as the safest and most cost-effective way of preventing disease, disability and death. The AAP calls for the on-time, routine immunization of all children and adolescents according to its policy and we adhere to these recommendations. We are NOT an anti-vaccination practice. Dr. James Porter is a board-certified pediatrician and a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a past chief of pediatrics at Newton Memorial Hospital in Newton, New Jersey. Dr. Porter received his bachelor's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey (UMDNJ). He served his residency in pediatrics at the University Hospital/Children's Hospital, New Jersey. A long-time resident of Sussex County, Dr. Porter graduated from Kittatinny Regional High School. Dr. Porter has more than 30 years of experience treating children in Sussex County. He continues to model a healthy lifestyle through exercise and a healthy diet.
