“Dr Blake is fantastic! In my consultation, he took his time to understand my problem. I felt genuinely heard. I didn’t feel rushed like cattle. The environment is calm, his staff are exceptionally friendly. Although his office doesn’t accept insurance, he makes it easy to pay down charges that may not be able to pay off immediately. They are very upfront with cost and how they expect payment. There are no gimmicks or hidden business. I highly recommend this office. He is sure to get down to the bottom of your problem. He’s big on EDUCATING about your body and what works best for you. I can’t say enough about him and his staff. ”

Dr. Blake is a graduate of the University of Mississippi ’80 (Chemistry & Zoology). He earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in 1989. He completed his Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship at the Hospital of PCOM in 1992 and 1994, respectively. He is board certified in Gastroenterology. Dr. Blake is the owner of Blake Gastroenterology Associates, LLC, in Philadelphia, PA, and has been in private practice for twenty-six years. He is also a health policy fellow (Ohio University/NY Institute of Technology). He has served on the Alumni Board of Directors of both PCOM and the University of Mississippi, as well as on the Board of Trustees for PCOM. He lectured for 22 years at PCOM in the Department of Gastroenterology and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor there. He is dedicated to having an impact in the community to prevent colon cancer and/or detect colon cancer in its earliest stage (increasing the potential for cure). Now offering the "Holistic Colonoscopy" using Nitronox Gas.

i am surprised to see all these positive reviews for this doctor. i came in with a problem involving hemorrhoids that was promptly dismissed. i was told i was causing my own problems by having bipolar disorder. i was told i needed a colonoscopy, which was done without sedation and with an inadequate amount of nitrous oxide.
i again contacted him about my hemorrhoids and he agreed to band them. i was prepped for the procedure and then told i had rectal prolapse and he couldnt help me after all. he said i needed surgery.
a colorectal surgeon was baffled by all of this. upon examination saw instantly that i only had inflamed hemorrhoids, not rectal prolapse. i was told to forget everything this doctor told me. surgery was not necessary.
the amount of stress i felt during the past few weeks dealing with this doctor can't be overstated. all that effort just to not be taken seriously and dismissed for my mental health issues. i'll never forgive him for wasting my time. never again.

Amazing doctor! Everyone who works there is incredibly nice, and they go out of their way to help you. Dr. Blake did not rush the appointment, and took time to answer all of my questions and address all of my concerns. He has amazing bed side manner, and I felt comfortable throughout all of my visits and procedures. Highly recommend him!

Very good, I was nervous for days before going (my first time having an exam like this) and when I arrived i realized it was for nothing. The staff was very friendly and dr Blake was informative and had good bedside manner. I'm going back for a second appt.

Dr. Blake is a remarkable physician. During my first visit was very attentive and patience in answering my many question about my colonoscopy(which I was nervous about). During the procedure his staff was remarkable as well as Dr. Blake in making me comfortable. After the procedure was most important because Dr. Blake spent quality time with me explaining my results. If you need a colonoscopy I would say that Dr. Blake is the best in Philadelphia.

Dr. Blake is very professional and has a great bedside manner. He explained things well.
My only gripe is that I showed up for my 7:00am appointment to a dark, locked office. Someone finally came out at around 7:10 to let me in, and I didn't see Dr. Blake until after 8am.
