“The waiting room was very crowded and hot. I was called back within about 20 minutes then sent back out to wait again even though I was told I was the next patient. Then when I saw the dr she was a little quick to cut me off during our conversation. I wanted to express that if a lifestyle change was possible before medication I’d prefer that but she interrupted and said if I needed meds, then I would take the meds. Just felt a little unheard in that moment.”

About Dr. Janet H Lee
Dr. Janet Lee earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Touro University, Mare Island, and completed her residency at the University of California Irvine Medical Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine. In 2010, after specializing extensively in hospital practice, Dr. Lee founded the Headland RPV office in the South Bay, serving patients in Rancho Palos Verdes, Torrance, Redondo Beach, and surrounding communities. She is an attending physician at both Torrance Memorial and Little Company of Mary Medical Center.
From cell to bedside, Dr. Lee is a strong advocate of preventative medicine, believing that health maintenance and quality of life are best achieved through lifestyle modifications, with medical intervention reserved as a last option. She dedicates much of her time counseling patients on healthy lifestyle choices and helping them develop sustainable habits. Open-minded to various alternative medicine options, she feels internal medicine is uniquely positioned to safely integrate these therapies into practice.
When all efforts at conservation are exhausted, intervention is prescribed efficiently, guided by the latest medical knowledge, technological advances, clarity, and compassion. Always current on the latest medical journals, Dr. Lee firmly believes evidence-based medicine should be the starting point in every patient's healthcare journey, not always the end. Each patient is cared for as an individual and never made to feel like a statistic.
