“I had a great experience seeing Janice Tavares for my primary care appointment. She is very personable, addressed all my concerns, answered any questions I had, and was thorough with her assessment. I recently moved and need refills of my prescriptions. Although I was able to be seen by Janice rather quickly, it had come to my attention that the labs she ordered were not discussed during the visit and she claimed that (per the CDC and being a new patient) that certain STD labs needed to be done. Both my wife and I have worked in healthcare for over 20 years and have NEVER heard of this being done as standard practice. It became clear that this was an attempt to upcode rather than being tests necessary to be run based off of the tele-visit. I would advise people to ask detailed questions if labs are being ordered as insurance companies won’t cover some of those tests.
