My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a mental healthcare provider began with a deep-rooted passion for helping others as a child, which then grew into a fascination with the complexities of the human mind as I continued in adulthood. Before attending nursing school, I worked on a child and adolescent unit as a mental health technician and loved the job. While working as a pediatric nurse, I continued to care for children who tried to commit self harm and help stabilize them prior to their admission into an inpatient facility.
