About Dr. Jared Winoker
Jared S. Winoker, MD is the Director of Endourology and Director of the Center for Kidney Stone Disease at Lenox Hill. He is also an Assistant Professor of Urology at The Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.
As a fellowship-trained endourologist (minimally invasive urological surgeon), Dr. Winoker is an expert in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including percutaneous, endoscopic, image-guided, and robotic approaches. His clinical practice focuses primarily on the treatment and prevention of complex kidney stones. This includes stones of all sizes in the kidney, ureter, and bladder, as well as those in patients with predisposing medical conditions, complex anatomy, or surgically reconstructed urinary tracts. Dr. Winoker is among only a handful of urological surgeons in the New York Metropolitan area who perform percutaneous kidney surgeries without the assistance of an interventional radiologist. His clinical interests and surgical expertise also include the treatment of enlarged prostate (BPH), prostate cancer, ureteropelvic junction obstruction, strictures of the upper urinary tract, and urothelial cancers of the kidney and ureter.
Dr. Winoker earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City. There he was awarded the Dean's Recognition Award for outstanding academic achievement and inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He then completed his general surgery internship and urological surgery residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, serving as chief resident in the Department of Urology. He completed his fellowship training in endourology and minimally invasive urological surgery at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute at Johns Hopkins, where he also received advanced training in applied clinical informatics.

Brilliant, personable, and excellent doctor. He uses Western medicine but also understands the value of how food impacts our bodies and offers suggestions to prevent UTIs, stones, etc. He also has an ultrasound in his office to see into the kidneys; no traveling to a lab and same-day answer. Highly recommend.

Dr. Winoker is clearly an expert on kidney stones and he explains everything clearly. He takes his time--doesn't make you feel like he has to rush off to other patients--and lets you know what all your options are. Definitely the person to go to. Was also keeping office hours during the holidays which was quite fortunate in my case.

The doctor understood my long history of kidney stones and its details very quickly. He recognized that I had read a lot about them, so decided to communicate with me in semi-advanced language, which I appreciated. I felt compelled to write this review because it was a really solid doctor experience. I went to get checked out after getting hurt. Everyone at the office was lovely, from reception to nurse, PA, etc. Doctor was great! They also have ultrasound on premises, which is convenient - and results come quickly. Doctor was very dismissive and in a rush for me to leave. Didn’t have an answer for my issues nor problems I was dealing with. Just told me to rest and don’t stress, didn’t do any tests or examination. Seem to me that they just charge people insurance and rush them out the door.

Dr. Winoker was phenomenal- one of the best interactions I have had with a doctor. He was extremely patient and listened to all of my concerns. After listening to my concerns he took his time to address and thoroughly explain each one. He showed great empathy and did not brush anything off. Typically when seeing specialists, the visit can feel rushed. This was absolutely not the case with Dr. Winoker. His demeanor was extremely professional and kind. First-time patient here seeing a urologist. The office location is very convenient with public transportation close by. the staff is super helpful and friendly. My experience with Dr. Winoker and the office staff was overall great. The staff was very attentive and helpful. They made sure everything necessary for the appointment was in order and were very clear and direct with everything that needed to be done and how to do it. Dr. Winoker himself was great. With my personal case he couldn't prescribe medication or run specific test but his reassurance of what my condition was and the healing process for it was extremely reassuring and relieving. He took the time to explain my condition and why things may take some time to heal but that they will and not to worry. There was no feeling of being rushed or my concerns being ignored, which in my opinion are some of the most important things when speaking with a doctor.
