Psychologist
NY
Whether working in individual, couples, or group psychotherapy, my goal is to help you live a life of greater authenticity, integrity, and wholeness. Whether you're facing a roadblock, a life transition, relationship struggles, a vague sense that something is wrong, or symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, complex trauma, or the stress of living in a society that others you due to who you are or how you identify, I am committed to working with you from respect, collaboration, and openness. I strive to foster a working relationship experienced as safe and consistent. I believe increasing your self-awareness of the complex factors that lead to habits of mind, relationship, and behavior (once adaptive, now perhaps self-defeating) can foster significant changes in how you relate to yourself, others, and the world. These freedoms can lead to healing, growth, new possibilities for fulfillment, and an expanded sense of well-being. Our goal is for you to be empowered to live, love, and work to your fullest potential. Healing may also come from developing new skills or targeting symptoms that interfere with accessing your inner resources to meet your unique needs and goals. I earned my Master's and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. I have worked with individuals suffering from mood, personality, adjustment, and psychotic disorders; also with those who have medical conditions and past trauma including sexual and emotional abuse. I practice culturally sensitive psychotherapy welcoming adults of all ages and diverse identities and communities. I specialize in working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, people oriented to or practicing consensual non-monogamy (CNM), and addressing issues related to gender and sexuality. Reach out and we'll discuss how we might best work together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a firm believer that working to increase your self-awareness of the complex factors that lead to habits of mind, relationship, and behavior (once adaptive, but perhaps now increasingly self-defeating) can foster significant changes in how you relate to yourself, others, and the world. In our work, healing may also come from developing new skills or targeting specific symptoms that interfere with your ability to access your inner resources to meet your unique needs and life goals.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am committed to working with you from a stance of respect, collaboration, and openness. I strive to foster a working relationship experienced as safe and consistent.

Don’t see your insurance?

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Ongoing session: $160-350 for 50 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductibles and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurances (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, Health Scope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, and Fordham. Your in-network insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our service more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fee (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.
