About Dr. Jay Krasner
We are happy to accept new patients who are seeking a long-term relationship with a primary care physician. We are NOT a specialist, we are a PRIMARY CARE PRACTICE. We are NOT a MassHealth provider at the current time.
Being a hands-on primary care physician is more who I am than what I do. I enjoy the diversity of challenges that come with this role. My patients would likely describe me as a cheerfully cynical Eagle Scout whose foremost values are independence, integrity, and competence. In my leisure time, I pursue a variety of interests to remain a well-rounded human being.
I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Brown University and completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Graduate Hospital.

I like the doctor well enough, but he only popped his head in after an NP student handled my visit. Ordered a bunch of tests, but when no problems turned up, there was no further help for me. For one test I had to call three times for the results - office didn't even know they hadn't gotten the results yet. Requested a call back from doctor or NP student and was refused. I went there with issues, but there is no communication after the initial visit - and it has happened before so it is not isolated incident. Doctor's wife oversteps role as receptionist and is the one who goes over test results but won't let you speak to a true medical professional to ask questions or get direction of what to do next. Prescriptions get called in after the fact with no discussion of what to expect, if there are alternate choices, or why that particular drug was chosen. I am not a doctor, but I am the owner of this body and I feel it should be a cooperative effort in caring for it.

Dr. Krasner and his entire office staff are great. I would recommend him highly to anyone. He's very knowledgeable. I've never had any health issues of any real significance, so there isn't much more that I can say. I just feel very comfortable with him as my primary care physician.

I've gone to this doctor for years. I was really disappointed at how little attention was given to me. I felt like a car part on an assembly line. I was seen by a nursing student without any supervision. She didn't seem to really know anything I was talking about in terms of existing issues. She did the entire evaluation (again young student without any supervision). Then the doctor came in and spoke to me for a minute at the very end. The entire thing felt pointless. Like my spouse was giving me a physical. The woman working the front desk (not the doctor) then filled out my blood work making all the recommendations and sent me on my way. Is good medicine dead or has this practice just really declined in patient care? The entire visit was bizarre.

I was very impressed at how quickly I was taken in, being my first time to the office. The receptionist was very nice and explained everything to me and how long my wait would be. I was in there for maybe 10 minutes, filling out the new patient paperwork, before I was called in to be examined by the nurse. After that Dr. Krasner saw me, and was very professional and courteous. I was on the market for a new primary care doctor and I think I just found him.

Dr. Krasner is a great a doctor, who is extremely knowledgeable and will put your mind at ease. Wait time was minimal, I was able to get an appointment on Patriot's Day (nurses were available). I didn't have to get my blood taken from a needle, but through a finger prick (which was great because I'm not a fan of needles). My nurse was nice, and made me feel comfortable as it was my first time there. Dr. Krasner had me waiting all of a minute between when the nurse left, and he came in. Because it was a physical, and I was new, the Doctor went through all of my worries/questions, and I didn't feel rushed. I'm excited to be able to find a doctor that is in my network that is near by me (I live in Marlborough), and within my health network!

As someone who has been working with medical software, doctors, and their staff for the last ~10 years, I very much appreciate the approach that Dr. Krasner takes with me as a patient. I'm able to communicate my concerns about different parts of my health/body and get his honest feedback about what it will take to improve in those areas. He treats me as another human with flaws and helps me find which things to focus on resolving with appropriate order and priority.
I've seen a lot of doctors due to some major injuries, but none have provided the down to earth demeanor and true caring that Dr. Krasner does.

Overall the experience was very good, but Dr. Krasner is very misinformed about the HPV vaccine. The CDC says the HPV vaccine can be given to males up to the age of 26, especially those who haven't had prior sexual contact, and unfortunately he brushed off the idea of men getting the vaccine. I suggest he read the latest literature on the subject before so casually dismissing it.

Had an excellent experience with Dr. Krasner. He's a very knowledgeable physician who does his best to address any and all of your concerns. Everyone in his office are also the most courteous and nicest people you'll ever meet.
