I am able to listen and understand exactly what the patient is requesting, and I have the knowledge to educate and inform them of their treatment options so they can make the best and most appropriate decision for their own treatment plan. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine and completed my internship in psychiatry at Western Michigan University. I also completed my residency in psychiatry at Allegheny Health Network. Additionally, I hold a bachelor's degree from Louisiana State University.

Dr. Leathers was able to find the right combination of medication to help my anxiety and depression. I saw two other psychiatrists before him (both left the practice they were with) and I’m very thankful that I was transferred to him. Highly recommended.

Do not book with this man. He is extremely short-tempered and argumentative. He is just itching to start a fight with anyone. You have to walk on eggshells around him. Extremely toxic. He will not listen to you or your concerns. He will not care if you are experiencing physical pain. And God help you if you disagree with him or tell him that your medication is not working and need a different one. He has absolutely zero bedside manner and will treat you like garbage. Do yourself a favour and stay away from him. He does not deserve your hard-earned money. Find someone else.

He asked me very thoughtful questions to understand my background and made me feel comfortable talking about it. I have felt neglected in the past, but I was able to feel open to express my past and he was able to provide me with great treatment options moving forward and a follow-up visit we planned on doing in a few weeks. Great experience I had today and would highly recommend it to others considering going to him.

When I didn't receive the new patient information, instead of greeting me over the appointment he harshly went into interrogating me for why I haven't filled out my paperwork. He then poorly listened to who abused me. He then told me I said the wrong person initially.. Lastly, he gave unasked for advice about my medical marijuana card. Stating that the prolonged use is making my depression worse. It is currently the only thing keeping me sane. VERY RUDE GUY. stuck so far in his beliefs he's very biased. Also I tried so many times to cancel my second appointment and didn't get connected. Maybe they'll call back now.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Leathers. I wasn't sure what to expect with a telephone appointment for psychiatry. I had nothing to be concerned about, he put me right at ease. He is a great listener and took time to answer all of my questions. He is very knowledgeable and I learned from his expertise. The office staff helped me to prepare for my appointment and I know I probably needed more help than most! They were always cheerful and made me feel valued. Dr. Leathers is the third psychiatrist I’ve seen (due to insurance changes). He’s by far the best! He made changes to my meds that really helped my anxiety and depression. He takes the time to listen to my symptoms/progress before he adjusts meds. I highly recommend him!
