Getting to know Dr. Jean Claude Jubert

Dr. Jean Claude Jubert is a psychiatrist. He sees patients at Inner Banks Psychiatry in Edenton, North Carolina, and provides online consultations. As part of his formal education and training, Dr. Jubert completed a medical degree at Campbell University-School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM)-Leon Levine Hall of Medical Sciences and a residency in psychiatry at Louisiana State University. He is certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Jubert treats a range of emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions. He is devoted to helping the wider community receive the care they deserve.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Dr. Jubert approaches psychiatric care holistically, with emphasis on understanding how a patient’s physical health, socioeconomic circumstances, social connections, spiritual practices, and life stress all contribute to their mental health. A psychiatric symptom is rarely isolated. Depression may be driven by an undiagnosed thyroid condition. Anxiety may be worsened by unrecognized sleep apnea. ADHD symptoms in a child may coexist with trauma that standard evaluations have not explored.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Medication management and counseling are treated as integrated components of care, not separate services requiring separate appointments with separate providers. When medication is prescribed, the reasoning is explained. When counseling or coping skill development supports the treatment plan, it happens in the same appointment. Treatment adjusts over time as life circumstances shift, physical health changes, or new stressors emerge.

The most caring psychiatrist you could ask for. Genuinely listened to my experience, and wanted to know my background to boot. Especially for neurodivergent people, you're in good company. My only regret is that I didn’t find Dr. Jubert sooner.

Dr. Jubert is the best! I have seen a lot of different providers in the mental health field and I feel he takes the time to work with you on what your goals towards getting mentally healthier better. He isn’t going to throw a bunch of pills at you and is very well educated on all different methods of treatment. He never rushes and is one of the only psychiatrists I found that takes more than 15 minutes on his follow ups. Thorough and supportive I cannot recommend him enough!
