We all face challenges and difficulties in our lives. While we generally cope, there are times when emotional distress needs informed guidance. Depression, anxiety, and other behavioral issues are real illnesses. That's where a professional such as myself can step in to guide you through recovery to wellness. I graduated from Harvard Medical School and trained at the University of Pennsylvania. What should a new client know about working with you?

I understand psychiatric care to be a partnership with the patient. Together we work to identify core problems that need addressing, identify strengths and weaknesses, build working skills and adaptive behaviors. Medication may be a an element of treatment, if there are problems that medication can improve. I specialize in complex problems that involve physical and mental illness and welcome patients with such issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Expect the first few sessions to be a thorough examination of all current and past medical and psychiatric illness and care. I may ask for prior medical records, if such are available. I may also ask for permission to speak with other medical professionals who have cared for you. We will then identify core issues to address, and together develop a plan of care tailored to your needs and expectations.
