About Dr. Jeffrey Chen
Jeffrey Chen, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of hand, wrist, shoulder, and elbow conditions.
His practice interests range from common conditions of the hand such as carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger, to complex upper extremity trauma, arthritis, Dupuytren’s disease, tendon/ligament injuries, peripheral nerve surgery, and general fracture care.
Dr. Chen provides an individualized approach to each patient, taking their needs and demands into consideration when formulating a treatment plan. When treating his patients, he asks himself what he would recommend if they were his own family. If surgery is necessary, he regularly performs minimally-invasive procedures including wide-awake surgery, fracture fixation, arthroscopic surgery, and joint replacement.
Dr. Chen earned his undergraduate degree at Duke University where he majored in Biomedical Engineering. He obtained his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society. He then completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the prestigious NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital in New York City followed by a fellowship in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh.
He has published numerous journal articles, textbook chapters, scientific presentations, and video techniques throughout the realm of hand and upper extremity surgery.
