Getting to know Dr. Jeffrey Gold
My approach is laser-focused, precision medication management. I earned my Doctor of Medicine from Universidad Central del Este (UCE), which laid the foundation for my clinical expertise. In addition to providing patient care, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellow providers. I am an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the Frank Netter School of Medicine. I plan to use all my clinical skills to help people achieve the maximum improvement in mental health.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I pride myself on my ability to listen to patients and work with them to achieve the desired outcome. I never dictate to a patient but thoroughly explain the issues. The best result is when the person is given information on what the evaluation reveals and the steps taken to address them.
The goal is to find the most effective and safe solution.
I am most happy when my patient is doing well.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My first session involves conducting a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. All aspects of the individual are taken into account. This consists of learning about upbringing, medical issues, psychological issues, occupational issues, previous psychiatric evaluations, and treatments. Additional information about the family will be obtained. Emphasis will be placed on the current symptoms and how they effect functioning and satisfaction with life. I will then present various treatment options, including the benefits and risks of each.
During follow-up sessions, I will evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment and determine if there are any side effects or concerns. If the treatment is not going as expected, I will review additional options.
Between sessions, . During the first session, I provide the person with multiple ways I could be reached.
