She completed her undergraduate studies in Nursing at New Jersey City University. Dr. Akombe earned her Master's in Nursing from Walden University and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Samford University. She later obtained a postdoctoral certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from the University of Massachusetts. Dr. Akombe is licensed in 14 states, including Delaware, Maryland, Washington DC, New York, and Pennsylvania, among others.

At Serenity, our treatment approach is grounded on evidence-based practice that centers around holistic care and treating every patient as an individual. I was able to schedule an appointment with Dr. Akombe immediately (next day) for medication management. She was friendly, easy to talk to and relatable from the beginning. During our first appointment, she outlined a plan that worked for me. I felt like she truly had my best interests in mind when advising on medications/treatments and explained things clearly. I was able to schedule a follow-up visit with her for several days later. She provided me with her cell phone number to contact her directly with any questions or concerns I had so she definitely makes herself available.
