“I’ve been trying to find a psychiatrist going through referrals by my doctors and not receiving any luck. I was told I was too old to be see for a diagnosis for ADHD and just couldn’t find a psychiatrist on my own. Then my mom told me about zocdoc. Dr. Jennifer Shoenfelt is a staff psychiatrist at Talkiatry, double board certified in child and adolescent psychiatry and adult psychiatry, with over 14 years of clinical experience. Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.

Most relevant

I honestly had a good initial consult with Dr. Shoenfelt except for the fact that she was 15 minutes late. I didn't mind because the rest of the meeting was smooth and she was very attentive and comfortable to talk to. However, on our second meeting, Dr. Shoenfelt came 10 minutes late and then spent the next 10 minutes reading out loud the summarized notes from our last session (in order for her to remember who I was and what we spoke about). It was very uncomfortable and I wish for no one to experience that. With my permission she used an AI recorder in both sessions that takes notes for her and then summarizes them...this is fine except that she completely did not know who I was on our second meeting and then was reading to me notes that AI took about my past psychiatric history. I am not seeing her again. Every patient deserves to be seen by a provider that takes time to read their chart beforehand, arrive on time, and knows who they are seeing. Would not recommend.

I have been looking forward to this appointment for almost 2 months and this doctor never contacted me to let me know that she had canceled my appointment because evidently I did not meet her age restriction. I am very sad about this. I was really really looking forward to meeting us. Doctor and I never write reviews but this really hurt my feelings. I was there waiting for her to join the video doctor appointment and she just no showed
