“The front desk staff was very short and condescending. The nurse that saw me before the doctor wasn’t any nicer.
She told me she will ask a series of yes/no questions. I stated to respond to a question, my answer was not yes or no, she stopped me mid-sentence and said “I said yes or no”!
Dr Kappelman is wonderful and explains everything completely. I felt very confident with her care.”

About Dr. Jessica Kappelman
Dr. Jessica Kappelman is a board-certified dermatologist, who specializes in both general and surgical dermatology. Her interests include pediatric dermatology, dermatoscopy, and skin cancer.
She is a graduate of University of Illinois, in which she was a member of Phi Eta Sigma and Golden Key National Honor Societies, as well as Phi Beta Kappa. She also served as philanthropy chair for her sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta.
She attended University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford and graduated at the top of her class, with the distinguished honor of Alpha Omega Alpha. During medical school, Dr. Kappelman was also awarded the Codman Health Care Evaluation Award and James Scholar nomination.
Concurrently while in medical school, Dr. Kappelman worked diligently to attain a Masters degree in Public Health (M.P.H) with an emphasis on health policy and administration.
Dr. Kappelman completed her internal medicine internship at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. She subsequently trained in dermatology at Loyola University Chicago. She then practiced in a large group dermatology practice for over two years before deciding to open her own practice in Plainfield, Illinois.
Dr. Kappelman is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Chicago Dermatological Society.
Dr. Kappelman’s most valuable accomplishments are in her personal life. She is a proud wife and mother to two young children. She enjoys spending all of her free time with her family.
