About Dr. Jihan Abbott
For more than a decade, Dr. Abbott has provided a full spectrum of family medicine to patients in the Twin Cities. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathy degree from Des Moines University and completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Minnesota, St. John's Hospital. With a bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, Dr. Abbott brings a strong educational foundation to her practice.
As a physician at a busy hospital in the St. Paul suburbs, Dr. Abbott cared for patients throughout the hospital, including women during delivery, newborn care, emergency medicine, inpatient concerns, and more. Her experience and approach are a perfect fit for Minnesota Women’s Care.
Dr. Abbott offers a full range of care to women and their families, including prenatal care and delivery, postnatal care for mothers and infants, pediatric medicine for children (including boys) up to age 18, management of chronic illnesses (diabetes, osteoporosis, hypertension, heart disease, rheumatoid conditions), well-woman care, plus full-spectrum family medicine and procedures.
About her work, Dr. Abbott says:
"My passion is my family. Caring for patients and their loved ones as if they are my own family drives my practice. There is no greater joy in family medicine than following a baby from the womb and beyond, and seeing generations of family members. We support our patients during their most joyous times and when they are most vulnerable.
I believe the physician-patient relationship should be collaborative and that good health must encompass mind, body, and spirit. I enjoy procedures and practicing full-spectrum family medicine—from prenatal care to pediatrics and all women’s health concerns. My osteopathic education has given me a holistic care perspective.
