Dr. Joan Alvarez is an experienced obstetrician and gynecologist. He is currently associated with Levin's Women's Health & Wellness Center, North Miami, FL.
Dr. Alvarez received his medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud. He then completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Yale New Haven Health, Bridgeport Hospital, and another residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.

Doctor Alvarez was awful rude arrogant impatient would not listen to my concerns the staff members didn't know what they were doing they were constantly arguing among themselves and with the Alvarez dr. Urine was out in the open a cup in the bathroom toilet paper was on the floor very unsanitary I didn't feel safe. I regret paying for this visit never again I don't reccomend that place. Please find another Gynecologist stay AWAY from this place.

Dr. Levine and Dr. Alvarez are the best OB-GYN I’ve met. Both of them are very knowledgeable and very friendly. They make you feel comfortable and take the time to answer any questions you might have.

I was pleasantly surprised with the office staff, they were very kind to all that walked through the door. It was my first time there and everything went smoothly. For over 17 yrs I was use going to a dr. that couldn't remember me from each previous year, very cold and impersonal. In regards to Dr. Alvarez, I've never had a conversation so thoroughly with any dr. before him. He patiently listened, examined and then explained with detail my options. I expressed personally how appreciative I was of his time and attention. Also, this office seems to be somewhat of a one stop shop since I don't have to go anywhere else for lab or ultrasound, they do it there. Thank you!

Siempre esta muy atento y pendiente, te hace sentir en confianza, puedes hablar y explicarle todo sin temor, es muy comprensible, siempre estuvo dando lo mejor durante mi embarazo y en el Labor day He did an amazing job.. My first visit was awesome. Love the professional team. Didn't get to see Dr. Alverez, but the other Dr. that I saw was great. The office is nice and clean, I did not spend a long wait time. My time there was less than an hour.

I found Dr. AlvRez via Zocdoc as he’s a physician covered by my healthcare provider, location and appointment availability. The office is clean & the front desk staff is courteous. As a new patient the wait time was average to process additional paperwork and etc. Prior to any exam I had a consult with Dr. Alvarez to discuss my history & answer any questions. Hey after the examination I had another discussion with Dr. Alvarez and proceeded with a care plan. Overall I was very pleased with my visit & would recommend!

Everybody was nice and accommodating. The bathroom does need a door he ok for purses, etc. and maybe some alcohol wipes/hand sanitizer for after giving a urine sample. But other than that, so far, grade A.

I would say my total appointment took about 30 mins or less. I was in and out very quickly. I only waited about 2 mins to see the doctor after giving a urine sample. The dr was very kind. I will come back again next year for sure

Received excellent treatment from the Dr, when I arrived I was advised the my appointment was 30 min later , then originally scheduled and confirmed via Zocdoc, my medical forms which I filled out on Zocdoc webside were not submitted to the Dr office, first receptionist was very unfriendly , looks like she was upset that I arrived just prior to her lunch break, did not want to see my insurance dox and ID ,just told me she will be sending office forms via email and can't do anything until she receive them back, for some reason second young lady stepped in and took the correct action in order to register.

I am so lucky that I found Dr. Alvarez. He is the most patient and knowledgeable doctor I have met in Florida. He has such a great sense for treating people with the kindest, but very professional attitude. waiting time was a little too long, little bit over one hour. They did not have the records of my medical history that I previously logged in thru ZOCDOC. But doctor Alvarez and team was very gracious and patient answering my questions.
