The doctor was knowledgeable and offered useful advice. The vibe was just a little impatient and critical though. I thanked the doctor and didn’t get a response. And he left without even indicating that he was done and I was in the care of the nurse for a blood draw. I do think he meant well and cared about his work, but overall
it felt like an impatient, anxious experience.

I had no idea that the office catered to artists and performers. I was asked if I worked on Broadway multiple times. I started to feel as though I shouldn't have been there.
I had never been to Mount Sinai before. For the past few years, NYU Langone has provided me with my yearly physical.
Dr. Fernandez gave me a confusing explanation of the annual physical's objective at the beginning of the visit, leaving me to question my reason for being there.
He was free to offer advice, which I did not ask for; however, I felt restricted in bringing up health concerns. This is something I have never experienced before. The exam was largely limited to bloodwork.
I mentioned one topic in passing. I expressly said I was not looking for a prescription. I mentioned it for background. However, he kept raising it during the "exam." I had to remind him I was not the one asking questions or, in any way, seeking a prescription.
Honestly, I was better off going to urgent care for my exam.

I was worried since this was the first appointment that I’ve booked through ZocDoc. But, the experience was good. My insurance was accepted and they processed my insurance properly. Despite arriving early, I was immediately taken back to the examination room for the intake. After that I had to wait a brief amount of time, which surprised me since I arrived quite early. The doctor took his time to listen and respond appropriately, taking extra time to explain things in further depth as needed.

Dr. Fernández is OK but he needs to improve bedside manners. He rushed through my appointment and said stigmatizing things. He was sweet and I could tell he was trying but he needed to slow down and update some of his language. He also works for a practice that is geared towards people in the preforming arts. There were resources he couldn’t give me because they are only available to preforming arts professionals. This feels like two different tracks of service and it feels discriminatory. If your practice sees the general public, you should offer the same service to all patients; and if you cannot offer the same services, ONLY see people in the arts industry. I would only recommend this practice to people in the industry.

Great office in a convenient location. The team is very kind and welcome. Dr. Fernandez covered all the questions for my annual check-up and ensured I knew what everything meant. Also, great use of inclusive language and very conscious of the patient experience and what could be triggering. I recommend this practice to all my friends, ESPECIALLY if they are in the performing arts industry.

I can’t say enough positive things about Dr. Fernandez and this office! Shout out to Jerée for being so kind and skilled for the first part of my appointment! Super short wait time, which is rare.
Doctor was so-so; dismissive of most issues and responses were mildly condescending. Told him about pain points and his default answer was to point me to another doctor or tell me to schedule a separate visit.
Beyond that, my routine blood draw took several stabs across both arms, wiggling the needle around between two different nurses, causing significant bruising afterwards. The cherry on top was them mislabeling the tube and needing me to come in for yet another blood draw afterwards.
TLDR: I’m in pain

I didn’t need to wait! I was seen as exactly at my appointment time. Dr. Fernandez was friendly and efficient. The blood test results came back in a day. So fast. I recommend him as a doctor

Dr. Fernandez is always excellent, listens and responds worth solutions about any issues. He seems to be booked tightly, but gets done whatever needs to be done in the amount of time he has. Office is run like a well-oiled machine.

Dr. Fernandez was condescending, sarcastic and did not provide a welcoming space to bring up my health concerns. He started off the visit by making me choose between an annual physical or sharing specific health concerns with him because he did not have enough time and he would have to potentially bill me differently as they are considered different types of appointments. “Do you want to do the wellness visit or problem solving visit?” Both were not an option.
He had a sarcastic comment to add to almost every point I brought up. It was not a pleasant experience and I would not recommend this doctor.
The front desk and the kind nurse/assistant that did my bloodwork were all great. There are other doctors at this location that I would highly suggest considering before making an appointment with Dr. Fernandez.
