Incredibly refreshing intake appointment. Truly listened, asked great insight questions, left with a solid plan in place. 10/10 would recommend.

From a vulnerability standpoint, I don't believe I could've been put in a better situation as far as speaking with someone. The experience was uncomfortable in the beginning, but that was on my end. I didn't want to do therapy at all. My therapist helped me throughout the session realize how much more open I needed to be to get on a track to helping myself heal, and I have a lot of healing to do. I personally have a long road ahead, and my Dr. John helped me realize just what road I needed to be on. I highly recommend.

Dr Banks is great!

Dr. Banks is an incredible psychiatrist who truly listens and cares. I felt genuinely understood and supported, which I find is difficult to come across during a first appointment. Highly recommended!

It was my first time going to any psychologist/therapist etc. It was wonderful. Dr. Banks is very good at listening, and asks all the right questions. He asked me one that even had me stumbled ??. But this was a great first time visit, he created a solid treatment plan that I feel comfortable with, and really tacked on to what my issues are. I would recommend anyone to see Dr. Banks. 11 out of 10.

DO Banks was a great listener. He rapidly grasp the issues I was struggling with and clearly detailed the plan to follow. I felt in good hands and felt a sense of confidence that things would get better.

I had a fantastic visit with Dr. Banks. He was very kind and listened to everything with an open ear. He gave explanations behind all of his thoughts and beliefs of what might be going on with me. It was super helpful. He gave lots of great recommendations that help me feel like I'm finally out of limbo, put my feet on the ground, and start walking sticks to a solution. While he didn't recommend long-term telehealth with him, he gave me great resources in my area that I plan on seeking out. Thank you so much, Dr. Banks!

John was so attentive and let me feel heard. Im extremely grateful for his help and insight. I definitely recommend him for anyone
Verified patientVideo visit
Dr Banks gave my best, most thorough, most informative intake I have EVER had, & I have seen 4 psychiatrists, 4 psychologists, & at least 3 PAs over the past two decades. He went above & beyond asking questions, answering my own, & sharing his opinions on how my treatment should go – more than anyone else has in one meeting. This was all after he made it VERY clear that he would not be able to keep me as a regular patient since TALKIATRY is not intended for patients with major treatment-resistant depressive disorder since I definitely need more advanced therapy than just medication, unfortunately. His bedside manner was very open, reassuring, polite & completely professional. He even has a terrific sense of humor in response to my comments I tend to make when talking about myself. This made me feel heard, more relaxed, & helped me open-up. He was even happy to meet my Pug! (One of my best antidepressants.) My appointment was as long as needed, not over before we were done. 20 stars!
