About Dr. John Brummer
We strive to keep our patients walking, dancing, active and on their toes! Our belief is that great health begins at your feet – let's put your best foot forward! We work out of 3 Manhattan office locations within multi-disciplinary practices to provide the best care possible to our patients.
John J. Brummer is a board-certified foot surgeon by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, an active member in good standing with the American Podiatric Medical Association and the New York State Podiatric Medical Association. He received his Bachelor of Science degree at SUNY Stony Brook and completed his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine at the NY College of Podiatric Medicine. He continued his training in residency for the next four years and completed a three-year surgical residency specializing in foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Brummer continues to perform surgery as a clinical instructor at the Mount Sinai Medical Center. He also has surgical privileges at Lenox Hill/Northwell Hospital, Midtown Surgery Center/NYCAS and 5th Avenue Surgery Center.
Dr. Brummer was the former team doctor for two semi pro basketball teams. This foundation allowed him to create care protocols for competitive athletes and begin specializing in sports medicine.
Dr. Brummer also has extensive experience working with professional dancers. At The School at Steps, he has been involved in workshops as a panelist & care provider, working with greats like Misty Copeland and Tiler Peck. He is quite familiar with Pointe and has been interviewed and featured in multiple articles in Pointe magazine over the years.
While Dr. Brummer may not dance, he certainly does run! As a marathoner himself, he is able to connect with patients and truly understand the dynamic needs of a runner. With over 25 years of experience, your feet will be in great hands under his care!

I was rushed throughout my appointment. The insurance claim was also strange, I see line items that should not be included given only a 15 minute discussion at the appointment and no surgery. At one of my appointments, xrays were taken but because they were extremely rushed (another patient had the exact same appointment time in the waiting room) and were not at the right angle so weren't helpful. Overall just an awful experience, I would not recommend.
