I approach mental healthcare straightforwardly, with plenty of teaching and transparency in my treatment strategies. I employ mindfulness in all my dealings with patients. My current focus in Mental health is with ADHD, Depression, Anxiety (PTSD, OCD, GAD, SAD, Panic disorders), Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective, Personality Disorders, Autism, etc. I am limited in my comfort with substance abuse disorders. I have a straightforward communication approach. There is no hidden agenda, and I will explain my thoughts and rationale for my decisions. I like to employ humor when appropriate and use language that meets your needs and style. I use analogies to make understanding mental health problems and solutions understandable and reasonable. I have always loved teaching and helping others. My passion started as a teen when I was teaching swim lessons and later taught CPR & First Aid. I made way up the ladder of success in healthcare and knew I could make a real difference as an independent provider, and this led me to my current position as a Family NP and Adult Psychiatric NP. I believe in involving the patient in the development of treatment goals. We can then work together to set a treatment plan, and I can give them individualized instructions and feedback. Patients can expect a pleasant, relaxing, and stress-free first session. They will be able to speak with me about their needs and find out what to expect going forward.
