Dr. Jon Forché is a graduate of Miami University where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.A. in Biological Sciences. He received his Doctorate in Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry. He completed a residency in Low Vision Rehabilitation/Ocular Disease at the Birmingham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Jon Forché is the only Low Vision Rehabilitation Specialist in Northeast Georgia. Dr. Forché is a vision rehabilitation consultant with the following organizations: Vision Rehabilitation Services of Northeast Georgia in Atlanta, Georgia, VISTAS in Athens, Georgia and The Vocational Rehabilitation section of the Georgia Department of Labor. He lectures extensively to fellow optometrists about practice management, medical coding and billing. Dr. Jon Forché's hobbies include running, skiing, hiking and camping. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Georgia Optometric Association. He is the Treasurer/Secretary of the 10th district of the Georgia Optometric Association and the Political Action Committee Chair. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, an organization dedicated to excellence in eye care. He spends much of his free time with his young children, Hayden and Adelyn. In 2013 Dr. Jon Forché became a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He was awarded the 2012 Beacon of Hope Award by the Georgia Lions Lighthouse for his work with visually impaired and uninsured patients. In 2004 Dr. Jon Forché was honored by the Georgia Optometric Association as the Young Optometrist of the Year in Georgia. This award is presented to an outstanding optometrist, leader and volunteer in the state of Georgia. He represents the best of the optometric profession by practicing optometry with the highest standards, creating strong relationships with other health care professionals and volunteering in the community.
